Back in the 'good old days' when I stood between the posts, all we had on our hands
was magic spittle.We spat on our hands to assist in keeping the ball out the net (much
like the magic sponge we applied to injured body parts - it worked every time.
Today the goalies would not dream of performing without their much oversized gloves.
Am I right or am I just getting old?
